Sometimes we are so busy answering other questions, like how can CBD help anxiety, or will CBD help me get pregnant, that we forget about the basic stuff. The questions that you just want a straight answer to, without all the fluff. So, let’s take a moment to bring it right back to the very start and answer is CBD cannabis.
Is CBD cannabis?
No. CBD is not exactly cannabis.
However, there’s a little more to it. The whole cannabis plant contains terpenes and cannabinoids. CBD is one of the many cannabinoids in the cannabis plant. But, it is not cannabis as such.
CBD is extracted from the cannabis plant into a distilled oil. In broad spectrum CBD, like Our Remedy, there is no THC, however terpenes are still present. The terpenes work in synergy with CBD and may have added benefits.
Will CBD get me high?
Cannabis contains THC, which is the cannabinoid that gets you feeling ‘high’. Our Remedy CBD doesn’t contain THC as it is not legal here in the UK. The CBD found in the oil may provide the therapeutic benefits, without the ‘high’. Due to the fact CBD will not get you high means that it is not illegal either.
Will CBD make me hungry?
One other concern that comes up often in our questions, is will CBD make me hungry. This is because cannabis is known for giving people “munchies”. Making you want to eat an endless amount of Dairy Milk, Doritos and Tangfastics. This wouldn’t be so great for the waistline. If that is a concern of yours then you will be glad to know that THC is the cannabinoid responsible for increasing hunger levels, CBD shouldn’t have that impact at all.
To wrap up – CBD cannabis
CBD comes from the cannabis plant, however, it is not cannabis and doesn’t act the same way in the body as cannabis does. Instead, it may provide therapeutic benefits, reduce inflammation, reduce feelings of anxiety or depression, help ease pain and more.
